This is book one of a series called A Seaport Suspense Novel. It takes place in a small coastal town in Florida. The main character, Ellen, is a writer, whose loves mysteries and solving mysteries. When rumor abounds about a secretive new family in town and then that family's only little daughter disappears, the search is on.
Ellen is a Christian, and this comes in to play as she tries to determine what is simply rumor and gossip and what is true concern and appropriate action. This book is very easy reading and kept my interest well. The character development, both of Ellen and the subject family members, were very thorough without being overdone. Each character's actions fit into the character she wove very well. Some were good Christians, some were good gossips and rumor mongrels with most in between. I do recommend this book and I look forward to future installments in the series.
