Family is very important to all of us, especially our Grandparents. My Grandpa was my hero as he was always there for me. My family and I recently read Grandma Janet Mary's first three books. These books are heart touching.

I Wanna Go To Grandma's House, brought my daughter to tears because she said she felt like she was there as the little girl told about her day at Grandma's house. This reminded her of all the times she had spent with her Grandma, who now lives over 3,000 miles away, so we do not get to visit as often as we did before.

These books tell about the special relationship a child shares with their grandparents. The second one of the series is Grandpa's Fishing Buddy. This story is about a young boy who spends the day fishing with his grandpa. In this story the little boy is telling about the day as grandpa shares his stories. As he shares his stories, they search for a fish they had named on a previous trip named Albert Einstien. For me these stories were like going down memory lane for when I was younger I did things like these with my own grandparents.

Another nice feature in these books is each book includes an activity for you to do with your grandparents. I Wanna Go to Grandma's House has a cookie recipe. Grandpa's Fishing Friend has instructions on how to catch a large mouth bass and Grandma's Christmas Tree includes instructions on how to make a pretzel ribboned frame. Grandma's Christmas Tree is my favorite.

These stories are a must read for every grandparent and grandchild. They are very nicely illustrated. On June 1, 2005, I Wanna Go To Grandma's House was presented with the Benjman Franklin Award. Two days later I Wanna Go To Grandma's House and Grandpa's Fishing Friend were chosen as part of the top ten for age group seven to young adult. They also won a Mom's Choice Award. I am looking forward to reading more of Grandma Janet's books.
