Many families dream of being able to take their vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Disney is without a doubt one of the best places to go for a family vacation and it is certainly our family's favorite. But a big issue for many families is the cost. A trip to Disney can cost a lot especially if you don?t plan ahead.
Thankfully, Chris and Kristal Carlson's Disney on a Dime is here to help families figure out how to get the most Mickey for the least amount of money. While other Disney guides focus on where to go and what to see while on visiting the resort, "Disney on a Dime" focuses solely on how to make your trip fit your travel budget.
Each chapter is organized around a different aspect of trip planning (travel, tickets, food, accommodations, etc.) and offers explanations of the costs associated with different options so that families can make smart planning decisions. They also include sample budgets and unadvertised secrets known only to Disney veterans. There is even an entire chapter devoted to free stuff that you can do in and around the theme parks.
Personally, I wish I had had Disney on a Dime to help me plan my family's first (and most expensive trip) to Disney several years ago. Though we have been back several times since and have found some ways to cut our costs, I still found this book extremely helpful and an indispensable resource in planning our next trip. If you're thinking about taking the family to Disney, be sure to pick up Disney on a Dime to help you budget your trip. You?ll be sure to save far more on your trip than you will invest in buying the book.
