As the mother of two girls, I was thrilled to receive this beautiful padded hardcover book to review. The book is a size that is easy for young hands to handle at 6 1/2" x 8" and is packed full of attractively illustrated pages, sure to maintain the attention of any little girl (and her parents).

Because it is so beautifully illustrated, I suspected that it could easily keep the interest of girls younger than the recommended 4 to 9 years of age. This was quickly proven by the attention given to it by my almost-3-year-old daughter. Because it is delightfully written, my 9-year-old daughter enjoyed flipping through the pages and reading what was written there also.

Designed to be read aloud by a parent (or grandparent) to a child, this book will initiate many thought-provoking discussions as mother and daughter (or father and daughter) spend time exploring God's plan for the life of His "princesses." This is a lovely excuse to spend an afternoon curled up enjoying one another's company and learning about the King, our Heavenly Father.

As you open each pair of pages, you find a "letter" written by our King to His princess daughter. On the facing page, you find a "letter," which is actually a prayer to our Heavenly King, written as a response by the little princess. Each letter by the King is actually a poetically written exposition of a Bible verse, which is referred to at the bottom of the page. The prayer by the little princess is a beautifully and thoughtfully written response to that Bible verse.

Some of the topics covered include respect, obedience, dealing with disappointment, overcoming jealousy, and telling the truth. This is a gentle, yet effective, way to approach these important subjects with the special girl in your life.

This beautiful high-quality book retails for $13.99 and would make a lovely gift for a special girl in anyone's life.
