Wired For a Life of Worship Review by Christine Field
By Louie GiglioMultnomah Publishers
http://waterbrookmultnomah.com/
This is a neat book! Probably most appropriate for older teens or college students, the student edition is a dual sided book. One side houses eleven chapters exploring the concept of worship. Each chapter fleshes out a "huge idea," such as, "Everybody worships something." The conversational, fun style of the writing, along with the book's attractive physical layout, make this a great resource to teach, challenge, and connect. While this could be used individually, it would probably be most appropriate for a small-group setting.
Flipping the book over, the user can then enjoy a 30-Day Worship Journey. Each day focuses on an aspect of God's character. One side of the page has a Psalm with words circled, underlined, and notes added to emphasize the point. The other side of the page is for a student journal to record their thoughts, prayers, and ideas as they take this journey. These are really beautiful! One of my teen daughters was peeking over my shoulder as I read this book and asked me if she could have it when I was done with it. That's a powerful resource!
An accompanying Leader's Guide contains illustrations and interactive projects to help the student apply what he is learning, along with additional discussion questions useful in a group setting. I did a little searching around on this author, Louie Giglio, and found that he also does college conferences and heads a record label called Sixsteprecords. Very interesting and lively stuff!
