This is a DVD presentation of Ken Ham speaking to a church congregation in Tennessee. In it he presents many of the foundational views of Answers In Genesis Ministries. He begins with the primary truth parents and churches should be teaching--that the Bible is the inerrant word of God. It is to be believed as fact, word for word, and not changed to suit man's ideas. He argues convincingly that society has influenced the church rather than the church influencing our society. Society drills into us that evolution is a fact and that we can distort our Bible to fit into their belief system by accepting a Genesis "day" as millions of years. Sadly, many Christians have fallen for this error. Returning to a word-for-word belief in the entire Bible will strengthen Christians as they seek to reach the world for Christ and will form the basis for teaching our children a Christian worldview.
In the course of the presentation, Ham refers to various other materials that are available from Answers in Genesis. Our family regularly uses material from Answers In Genesis, and we find the information to be accurate, firmly Biblical, and easily understood.
This DVD is also a wonderful tool for reaching out to friends and family who do not necessarily agree with or understand your belief system. If you take a few minutes to watch it with them, doors may be opened for discussion regarding your belief in the Bible and/or your homeschooling philosophy.
The only negative I can mention is that we found the choir in the background behind the speaker to be a little distracting. Otherwise, the presentation itself was well done.
Genesis: The Key to Reclaiming the Culture is a solid and thorough presentation that will bring you back to Genesis as the foundation of your teaching within your home. It is a wonderful reminder of why we teach and what we need to teach. And it offers compelling arguments that every Christian should know and understand in order to reach our world for Christ.
