Christmas Eve Blizzard is the story of Nicholas and his Grandfather Santos as they set aside their Christmas traditions to care for a cardinal trapped in a tree on Christmas Eve. This lovely hardcover book comes with a dust jacket and has 32 pages. This story reminds me of a classic Christmas tale--very sweet, poignant, and caring. The illustrations are beautifully done. This is one of our favorite Sylvan Dell titles (to date), and it will remain in our library to share each year. The "For Creative Minds" section at the back of the book offers more facts on the cardinal, instructions for creating a bird habitat in your backyard, bird feeder crafts, and information on what to do if you find an injured or orphaned baby bird. Also included are math games, information on cardinal numbers, and a Spanish/English glossary for the Spanish words that are sprinkled throughout this story. Of course, as with all Sylvan Dell books, you can get even more information and fun facts by going to the Sylvan Dell website at www.SylvanDellPublishing.com Christmas Eve Blizzard is a sweet storybook. It is a timeless classic that the whole family will thoroughly enjoy. Definitely recommended!
