Easy Homeschooling Curriculum Review by Nancy Wagner

This is a grade level guide to literature, preschool to grade 8 and teens, with 16 chapters by guest authors. Chapter topics include writing, speech, reviewing, lapbooking, organization, and life skills, as well as more traditional subjects such as math and science. This guide is written primarily for Christians using the classical literature approach to homeschooling; however, it has great reading lists for all Christian parents to utilize. Interspersed among the chapters are hints on working with different age levels.

You may have read Ms. Curry's previous books, Easy Homeschooling Techniques and Easy Homeschooling Companion. This follows in the same vein, providing more insight into why she has chosen the particular books on the reading lists.

I immediately looked up my son's grade. The reading is not dumbed down, by any means. Students who are not used to reading may struggle at first. The reading material will no doubt stretch their abilities in reading, vocabulary, and comprehension, which is generally a plus. I do recommend this book for those parents who wish to take a less cluttered approach to homeschooling and focus on the basics or for those parents who want a classical reading list for their student.
