TranscriptPro, developed by Inge P. Cannon, is an easy-to-use program that allows you to create professional looking transcripts for your homeschool students. Version 3.0.4 contains several new state-specific options: Indiana's Core-40 credit system, California's unique credit system, and South Carolina's Uniform Grading Scale. It also allows a large variety of test score reports (many of which I have never heard of!), such as the ACT, CAT, PSAT, CTBS, ITBS, MAT, NTBS, SRA, TASK, PLAN-and, of course, the good old SAT.
Data is saved automatically when you exit the program, a great comfort as you prepare such a detailed and important document. There is room for eight students at one time. A print preview screen allows you to view your transcript as you build it. TranscriptPro even audits your completed transcript and offers suggestions for improving it.
TranscriptPro allows many options, such as organizing a child's academic history by subject category or by academic year; five options for recording grade point average; and room to list extracurricular activities. There is lots of room for individuality here.
Ms. Cannon has provided an abundance of extra helps in her software. In addition to a Carnegie Unit Calculator to help you decide how many credits to award your student for completed work, there is a GPA calculator that automatically computes your student's grade point average whenever you add a new course to the transcript. Furthermore, clicking on the question mark on each page opens up detailed explanations and suggestions for creating your transcript. These tips answered all my questions, such as how strictly to apply Carnegie Units to a homeschool setting.
This software is licensed for single-family use. You will need to contact Education PLUS to receive your password before you will be able to use your new software.
TranscriptPro is extremely easy to set up and use, even for a computer illiterate like myself. The results are very professional and are sure to impress college admissions officers.
