Treasures from the Battle is a small book that brings much encouragement. There are fewer than 80 pages, but Tanya Marshall sets out to shift our degenerated thinking back to life in Christ by pointing to His Word and its importance in our lives.

A person might say, "I don't need another book to tell me that the Word of God is important. As a Christian, I can figure that out on my own." However, Mrs. Marshall takes the time to share all that Jesus put on her heart through her own battles. Throughout the book you are brought to the same heart-rending conclusions of Jesus' love for you, His care in taking you through your battles, and His joy in watching you reap the rewards of winning those battles, just as the author was. There are so many passages that can be meditated on and appreciated for how they were written. The author captures sentiments that you may have had in your own mind or on your heart but couldn't express in words.

As I read this book in the quiet times of my life (away from children and household duties), I was able to reflect on God. Many times I had to put the book down to meditate on a Scripture that was brought to light in a new way to me. Mrs. Marshall didn't change the Scripture; the insight that God gave to her was just an added morsel that needed to be savored.

This book rejuvenated my heart and gave me hope that even my darkest battles can yield treasures in abundance.
