This is a small book of about 120 pages with an activity book. The set is complete but could be used in conjunction with a broader study of William Wilberforce. The set covers the life of William Wilberforce and his work in abolishing slavery in England.

We felt this product was geared to the middle school or high school age group and thoroughly covers the subject matter. The activity book at first seemed immature for this age but proved to be very useful in studies. I don't feel that this book is just for homeschoolers, even though that is what the New Leaf Publishing Group is known for. According to the cover, the author was a consultant for the movie Amazing Grace, which is about Wilberforce's life and work.

My family and I loved this study on Wilberforce! My daughter loves studying about the slavery period and really enjoyed doing the activities. My husband, who is in college, needed to do a biographical essay on someone who lived prior to 1865, and he chose Wilberforce. This book was my husband's only reference, and he felt confident that he gathered enough information to put an essay together and get a good grade (which he did!). We love the way the book is laid out, and it's very well written. The pictures provide a fantastic view of the life of Wilberforce and his family. For instance, there are photographs of where he grew up in England and of the church where he and his wife Barbara were married.

The activities are put together very well and are easy enough that even a child in 4th grade could complete them with confidence. Activities range from matching pictures with hidden objects to word search and word puzzles. I really like the fact boxes scattered throughout the activity book. This set is by far one of my family's favorite items of the year! It's truly fantastic--nothing negative about it.
