I'll admit, when I first received I Love You More, I thought it was going to be just another "this is how much I love you" type of book from a parent to a child. Boy, was I wrong! This is instead a very unique flip-sided book that takes love from the perspective of a parent loving a child to a child loving a parent.

The book begins with a little boy asking his mom how much she loves him. In the typical format, the mom uses nature to describe the many ways she loves him. She loves him "prettier than the prettiest flower" and "mightier than the mightiest wind." Then comes the unique part of the story. Halfway through the book, you turn it over and start the story again with the mom asking the son how much he loves her. The son uses his own fun comparisons to describe his love for her--"taller than the tallest giraffe" and "higher than the highest swing ever swung".

The cover describes the book as being "like love" because "it never ends." Our family really enjoyed reading it--over and over again! Its sweetness and creativity drew us in, and its true words of love kept us coming back for more. Bright and colorful illustrations add to the sweetness of the book, while a large, simple font makes it easy to read.

Though it is recommended for babies and preschoolers, this book was enjoyable for my older children as well. You're never too old to hear the reassuring truth of how much your mom loves you (even though you may think you're too old to hear it)! Not only do I recommend I Love You More, but I plan to keep it on my shelf for readings with the grandchildren someday.
