Help Me 2 Teach is a subscription-based website that provides a searchable list of educational websites. You can enter a search term and receive a list of sites, with their descriptions and the target age for their information (primary, elementary, secondary, or teacher). Alternatively, you can search by entering your own keyword, by state standards, or by using the hyperlinked table of contents.

The topics covered on Help Me 2 Teach include holidays, math, science, social studies, language arts, computers, arts and crafts, and more. For example, I searched for "Egypt." The results included a really fun interactive website from the U.K. about hieroglyphics, artifacts, the temple at Abu Simbel, and wall paintings. Another website in the results list is a University of Chicago website about daily life in Ancient Egypt, with photographs of actual artifacts from the university's Oriental Institute Museum. When I conducted experimental searches, the results yielded websites of educational value for pre-K through high school, with interactive capabilities not found in any book.

This website is not filtered through a specifically Christian perspective. For example, there are "spooky stories" in the Halloween section and, of course, discussions about the worship of ancient gods. You would not necessarily want to turn your young student loose unsupervised, but you would find many enriching sites to bookmark for your child's use.

Study skills, virtual field trips, create a puzzle or test . . . you will find many useful resources with this tool, without wading through pages of useless search results as you might have to with an ordinary search engine. There are already over 2000 links on Help Me 2 Teach, and they are updated daily. If you would like to add a colorful, interactive dimension to your studies at home, this would be a useful tool for your family.
