Creating a Cooperative Learning Center is a 192-page paperback stuffed with ideas for creating a learning center in your community. Katharine Houk shows you how to start from scratch without funding or support from any organization; just being "ordinary parents."
In the pages of Part 1, the story of Houk's co-op center formation is told completely with all the bumps, the bungles and its obvious success. Short testimonies of many that participated pleasantly fill the pages of how their center came to be.
Part 2 includes over 70 pages of sample documents to give the reader a first-hand view of its design. Bylaws, lists, registration forms, field trip planning forms, class schedules, and surveys are just a few of the generous references. Those pages are a lot of information to take in at one time. The book ends with a list of helpful resources. Creating a Cooperative Learning Center is practical and inspiring. The price of the book is very affordable at $16.95. If I were to be interested in starting a co-op for a homeschool group, I would feel confident in this book as a helpful resource.
