Here's a self-contained, easy-to-use math supplement that homeschoolers will find very useful.

Daily Math Practice is 180 days' review of math concepts. Each week contains five days of different emphases: Days 1-2 students practice a skill; days 3-4 they drill related math vocabulary with activities such as crosswords; and day 5 they tie it all together with a word problem. The monthly themes are: Multiplication, Division, Algebra, Fractions, Geometry/Angles, Decimals/Money, Graphs/Data, Perimeter/Area, and Measurement. Each day's work is fairly short and should only take 5-10 minutes.

Here's an example of a week of fraction practice:

Day 1: Match the fraction to the picture.
Day 2: Circle equivalent fractions.
Day 3: Fill in the sentence blanks with the words fraction, denominator, whole, and numerator.
Day 4: Answer questions using the vocabulary.
Day 5: Word problems.

Additionally, there is review at the end of each theme.

I like the great variety in assignments; they are definitely designed to hold students' interest. I also like the emphasis on math vocabulary, which is necessary but often under-practiced. The pages can be done in groups, with the teacher or alone. They're short and flexible. They don't require much writing, which could be good for boys who are allergic to pencils. Daily Math Practice would be a fun, interesting and solid supplement for a skill-based math curriculum, or an informal "living math" approach, packaged nicely for busy homeschooling parents.
