As I ease into my bed after a long day of housework, there is nothing better than wrapping the Lavender Wheat Berry Heating Pad around my neck! Not only do I love the warmth that the heating pad offers, the aromatic effect of the lavender calms my mind. Lavender is a known soothing herb and it really does a wonderful job!
The pad is stuffed with organic whole wheat berries and organic lavender buds and thoroughly sealed in a feminine flannel cloth cover. (Masculine covers are available upon request to the company.) My bendable heating pad is over 20 inches long and filled with over a pound of wheat berries.
The pad is heated in a microwave oven for approximately three minutes and then it can be used directly on the skin. Heating times will vary with different microwave ovens so it can be a good idea to start by heating it for two minutes. The heat will stay in the pad for up to 30 minutes and can be reheated over and over without losing its scent and effective heating ability. I have found that for me, sometimes it comes out of the microwave especially hot so I place it over my hair. As it cools I put it directly on the skin. Some people prefer it against a piece of clothing. It is flexible in both its heat as well as uses.
We don't live in a part of California that gets particularly cold so this isn't something we have needed to do, but I can imagine that this would be a wonderful bed warmer on cold winter nights. The pads are wonderful with sick or restless children though I use less time in the microwave for them.
At $15.00, the Lavender Wheat Berry Heating Pads would make an inexpensive yet quality gift for any fall or winter occasion.
