Ready to Rock Kids, Volume 3 is a CD and activity book set designed to help children address their feelings and boost their self-esteem. The CD includes 12 educational and entertaining songs that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Song topics include overcoming fears to make friends, thinking positive, cleaning up, communicating, being honest, and many more great concepts kids can benefit from. The activity book includes the words to the songs as well as games, activities, and reproducible worksheets to extend the concepts that the songs promote.

Ready to Rock Kids, Volume 3 can be used at home or away. The CD is perfect for car rides. The activity book and games work in conjunction with the songs. It is advisable to listen to the songs and be familiar with them prior to introducing the activities. It is suggested that you play a song each week, which would allow the kids to learn the words to each song and prepare for the information that the worksheets and games supply. The activities reinforce the ideas in a fun and tangible way to provide a deeper educational experience. Ready to Rock Kids, Volume 3 was created for ages 4-9, but my two-year-old hums along with the others. The songs are catchy and fun, and I've even caught myself singing them while doing dishes. Anyone can use this set. It is not homeschool specific. However, you will find it makes a great supplement for character lessons.

My family has really enjoyed Ready to Rock Kids, Volume 3. We play the CD a lot. Our favorite song is called "Quirks." It covers the oddities that we all have and teaches kids to tolerate these silly habits and behaviors. My family has a lot of quirks, and we laugh at this song from start to finish. Lately, we have been studying truth in our character lessons. The song "H-O-N-E-S-T-Y" and the activities along with it were great to add to our discussions.

Out of 12 songs, we only found one that we skip over. The song "Six Little Kids" is about perspective. It tells the story of six little kids and how they each describe an elephant. We didn't care for this song because in the final lines it says that everyone's opinion is true. Yet, no one called the elephant what it really was--an elephant. We used the song as a teaching lesson that perspectives don't always represent the truth and can't be counted as facts.

I would recommend Ready to Rock Kids, Volume 3. The price ($16.95) is really reasonable. The CD and activity book are family friendly and fun. Overall, I think this is a product that families will learn from and enjoy.
