Catchup Math to the rescue! This is an online supplementary service for kids who need to catch up. An initial assessment identifies individual learning gaps. Then the program diagnoses, prescribes, and remediates. A cycle of quizzes is provided, followed by personalized review and practice for the topics needing remediation. Live online tutoring is also available as an option.

The online remediation includes guided practice problems, written lessons, video lessons, flash activities, math games, and flashcards. Basic skills are included, and the program covers Pre-algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry. The program can be used for remediation classes, review at the beginning of math courses, or major exam preparation.

Depending on where your child tests, he might work in Catchup Math for a few hours or a few months. It can be used as needed for whatever your goal might be. The sessions are short--sometimes as short as 15 minutes per day, which is good for short attention spans. Students are able to track their progress through quiz scores and charted progress in the lesson sequences. Teacher reports, showing the learning standards being covered, are available for each student.

Students interact with the program by typing or drawing on an on-screen whiteboard. Each session can consist of video teaching, review lessons, activities, and practice problems. For the individual user, the price is $99 for three months or $199 for twelve months.

With two struggling learners in my home, I'm finding this program to be a real blessing. The children can work on their weak areas in a short period of time each day, while we continue to make progress in our daily math lessons. For students needing review, this intelligent, to-the-point resource provides hope that they can indeed catch up!
