Student Solutions provides a large variety of laminated charts, bookmarks, reference tools, and games. There is virtually no topic that they don't have some sort of learning aid to help with. There are charts that show the parts of the heart, parts of a plant, countries, Roman Empire rulers, parts of speech, branches of government, landforms, math formulas, a Dewey decimal guide, historical figures, conversion charts, spelling rules, and much, much more. The most common product is the 6 x 9-inch laminated chart. These retail for $1.75 each. The 2 3/8 x 9-inch bookmarks are $1.25 each. There are several other sizes as well, all reasonably priced.
These laminated study solutions have a wide range of applications. If you had a child who was struggling in a certain area or needed to spend some time memorizing a certain set of facts, these aids would come in very handy. You could get several of the same size and bind them, either with a comb binder or a ring, and you would have a ready-made reference tool in any subject. There are even chore charts and writing charts that are reusable. The laminated re-writeable games, which use a write-on/wipe-off marker, would keep children busy in the car or during appointment waits. Use them for study drills, between children or with mom. Post them in a common area for memorization of poems, Bible verses, or geography facts.
The pricing on these gems is very attractive. For under $20, you could select a good set of tools for your school and use them virtually forever. Wholesale pricing (more than 24 of one title or $100 in assorted titles) is also available if you wanted to use them in a co-op setting. I can't think of anyone who wouldn't benefit from these handy tools.
The one drawback that I see is that the company does not have a website, so products cannot be ordered online. You have to call, email, or write for an order sheet and list; then you order by mail, paying by check. I'm a fan of ordering my school supplies, curriculum and tools online, so this is a drawback for me. But some prefer it that way.
