I reviewed three sets of Expo markers: the basic low-odor starter set; the retractable, low-odor set; and the Bright Sticks wet-erase marker set. The Expo starter set includes four low-odor dry-erase pens, a 2-ounce bottle of cleaner, and an eraser. These black, red, blue, and green pens are chisel-tipped, which allows you to draw thick or thin lines. Their colors are vibrant, and their odor is minimal--a huge improvement over the normally nauseating smell of dry-erase markers. The non-toxic cleaner removes stains from your whiteboard and refreshes it for future use. The lightweight eraser cleans easily with soap and water.

The "Click" retractable markers are really cool! These low-odor pens come in a set of three colors: red, blue, and black. These pens retract, so there is no cap to keep track of or lose. This means you can hold a coffee cup in one hand and write with the other! A valve design keeps the pens from drying out.

Finally, the Expo Bright Sticks are fluorescent wet-erase markers that can be used on black marker boards, fluorescent light boards, whiteboards, or glass. These bullet-tip markers come in white, yellow, pink, green, and blue. The colors are thick and don't look streaky on surfaces. These pens are great for writing Bible verses on the bathroom mirror or birthday greetings on a window. The water-soluble ink wipes off easily with a damp cloth.

My children love using a dry-erase board for schoolwork. It reduces paper waste and gives variety to lessons. I only have one caveat about Expo dry-erase markers. They do stain clothing and other porous surfaces, so use caution around your special things.
