Don't have time to read to your child for forty minutes straight? Let Moving Picture Books do it for you! They bring favorite books to life on DVD by combining animation, narration, sound effects, and music. Children aged 1-7 will be educationally entertained by these award-winning, animated children's books.
Each DVD presents seven animated children's storybooks. Currently, the website offers six different volumes. I was asked to review Volume 3, The Wild n' Wonky Collection, which includes the following stories: Hungry Bunny, I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly, Jungle Tumble, Eency Weency Spider, When I Grow Up, and The Moon Followed Me Home. Also included is a bonus story: Polka-Dot Pony of Blackberry Farm, which my 4-year-old daughter loved!
The Wild n' Wonky DVD, which sells for $12.99, has many other features as well. You can choose to view the DVD in English, Spanish, or English read-along text. A little activity book, which highlights activities from the books, is included inside the DVD case. You can also download mobile versions to devices such as iPhone or iTouch, and children can watch on the go!
To check out a preview and see a detailed description of each story in The Wild n' Wonky Collection, you can visit the website listed above. If you like what you see, you can conveniently order right from the website. I think any of the volumes would make terrific Christmas gifts for toddlers and preschoolers!
I had my daughter watch this DVD while I focused on homeschooling my older children. She really liked it and asked to see it again the next day. While we do enjoy traditional cartoons, watching real storybooks come to life is such a nice break!
