This series of books is for learning to read. I received three of the books to review: Patty Cat (short vowels), Bouncy Mouse (vowel combinations), and Joey Goat (long vowels). In addition, I received a Resource Guide. My favorite of the three I received is Bouncy Mouse, which is about a very enthusiastic musician. He enlists some barnyard buddies in his band, and they become famous after they entertain at the County Fair. No dull learning-to-read stories here. These stories are fun to read, and the illustrations are excellent. At the end of each book, there are suggestions for related activities.
The Resource Guide has bulletin board ideas; character cards that can be cut out, colored, and laminated; suggestions for teaching reading to your children; activity suggestions for each book; and some reproducible activity sheets. The answer key is on the inside back cover.
These books would be a great resource for teaching your child to read. Each book has about 30 pages and sells for $5.95 on Amazon. The Resource Guide sells for $12.95 and contains 56 pages. These books are for ages 5-7 (Grades K-2).
