This Little Prayer of Mine is a delightful book for children who are learning about the value of prayer. Written by Anthony DeStefano, the simple poetic verse will appeal to even the youngest of listeners. Mark Elliott has done a beautiful job painting pictures that breathe life into each page.

Though this book seems to be written for parents to read to younger children, older children up to age 8 will enjoy reading it on their own. Principles about prayer found in this book will be helpful for children of any age. Children are reminded that though they are small, God hears them when they pray. Through thoughtful prose, Mark Elliott guides young readers to seek God's help in difficult situations, to ask His forgiveness when they've sinned, to be thankful for all of His blessings, and to trust Him with their future.

I love the fact that This Little Prayer of Mine places such importance on praying about all of the details of our lives. Nothing that we go through is too big or too small for our God to be concerned about. He wants to hear it all. I'm so thankful for this little book that will help me to teach my daughter that God desires to have that kind of relationship with her. Homeschooling parents like myself will be able to find many ways to use this book to teach kids about all aspects of prayer. The book can also be read and talked about in recognition of The National Day of Prayer.

This Little Prayer of Mine is a book that I can absolutely recommend. Parents will love the solid truths presented in this book, reinforcing what is being taught in the home. Children will love the fun rhymes and colorful illustrations that will have them begging to read it over and over.
