Do you want an easy way to fall into the cooler seasons of fall and winter? This e-book by The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine will put you in the mood to celebrate. It is a colorful e-book that you can download from their store. There are more than 80 pages of fall and winter favorites.
The e-book is broken down by season. In each season there are traditions, crafts, home decorating ideas, tips for entertaining, games, book reviews, poetry, and gift ideas. The clip art is beautiful. There was an article on window painting for the fall with a real picture of the painting that helped me visualize the project. The recipes did not have pictures of the prepared food, but the recipes looked yummy. The crafts had pictures of each of the steps for the difficult tasks. The 3-D Snowflake looks like a great craft, but without the pictures my kids and I would have been stuck. Now our house is decorated for the winter.
I loved seeing the traditions and recipes from other homeschooling moms. I liked how some of the very creative ideas seemed easy to accomplish. As a homeschooling mom who wears many hats sometimes, I might see a great idea but lack the time and resources to accomplish it. One of the ideas for Thanksgiving was to write things that we are thankful for on paper and put them on a bulletin board. I can do that!
This e-book helped put me in the mood for the holidays. It reminded me of the simple things that I can do to enjoy the season. The section that had gifts that the children could make for friends and family had beautiful pictures and good instructions. There were things to make that didn't cost a lot of money. The e-book gave us inspiration. My fourth-grade daughter loved looking at the projects. When we are in a slump at school, she will look over a holiday food or craft and spice up our day with one of them.
We have thoroughly enjoyed the e-book Homespun Holidays Fall and Winter. We look forward to reading more seasonal books from The Old Schoolhouse®.
