My children and I are hooked on listening to stories on CD in the car. We all like adventure, while I also strive to find things that strengthen our relationship with the Lord and/or build character qualities. Adventures in Odyssey CDs meet all three of those qualities!

Adventures in Odyssey audio dramas are produced through Focus on the Family and have been around for years as radio broadcasts. The dramas have been available on CD for quite some time, too. Familiar characters, adventuresome predicaments, and God honoring character building all come together in a very professional-quality presentation that will keep your ears in tune.

One of the newest releases is the Cause and Effects CD set. Twelve captivating stories on four CDs equals over five hours of listening time! Each story focuses on one main character quality, such as hiding sin, fear, friendship, responsibility, or honesty. All of the "lessons" are taught under the premise that because every action has a consequence, we need to be thinking about possible consequences--good and bad--as we make decisions.

We especially liked the mystery factor in many of the stories in this CD set. Who has left a black rose at the clock tower, and why? Is a phantom backstage? Is the school mascot a lucky charm? Who stole the milk balls? Of course, in every instance the message comes shining through that God and His principles always work.

As far as books/stories on CD go, this set retailing at $14.99 is a great value. But beware; your children from age 5 to 12 might just beg for more!
