Little girls love stories about princesses. They all want to be one. Providing great role models is very important. My Princess Bible is an adorable Bible created with those factors in mind. However, the focus is not on the exterior but on what a princess of God looks like on the inside.
As soon as my daughter saw this Bible, she loved it. Nineteen of the twenty princesses are actually women of the Bible. They are portrayed in a way that is respectful yet makes them look like a princess. The stories are written in the form of a poem, with a Scripture reference provided. At the end, the main principle is reviewed, and two phrases are provided where you can insert your daughter's name and teach her what she should be doing. The last princess covered is the child herself. The poem reviews all that God requires of His special princesses.
The book is a hardcover, which I like, because I can see us using it for many years to come with our two daughters. The poems are short enough to keep a young child's attention and get the point across. Using the child's name in the phrases at the end makes it more personal, and the repetition helps to reinforce that she is God's special princess, a message that is not focused on in today's society. The illustrations are colorful yet simple, and they create a focus on each individual princess.
This is a Bible any little girl is sure to love. It's sturdy and able to handle many years of use. Princesses never go out of style, and if learning what it takes to be God's special princess is something you want to instill in your daughter, this is a great place to start.
