If you are looking for a fun activity or a beautiful gift for your daughter, then these paper dolls from Noble Rose Press would be an excellent choice. Breezy and Emily Rose Brookshire are the creators of this lovely paper doll series, as well as the accompanying Family Treasure Coloring Book. There are six different paper dolls books included; each book has two different historical women. Some of the women are Elizabeth Prentiss, Susannah Spurgeon, Abigail Adams and Idelette Calvin. Inside the front cover you will find a short biography of the women. These include information about their childhood, marriages, and how they influenced others. On the following pages are the dolls, stands, and dresses, ready to be cut out. Each doll comes with three different dresses which are true to their specific time period. Conveniently on each dress, the name of the accompanying doll is written on one of the slits. The stand attaches to the doll and has the doll's name and the dates of her birth and death. There is also a pocket to cut out and paste into the back of the book. This is an easy place to store the cut out dresses. On each pocket is an encouraging Bible verse.

The Family Treasure Coloring Book depicts the life of a family. The pages are filled with different scenes; working on a farm, going on a picnic, visiting a museum, doing school at home, and visiting grandparents. The illustrations in this 48 page book focus on helping others, spending time with family and being kind. The coloring pages are advanced enough for an older child to enjoy as well.

I found the paper doll set to be a high quality, historically accurate, enjoyable activity for my girls to play with. I also appreciated the instructions in the back which gave some additional ideas for added stability and a way to adhere magnets to the back for younger children. The dresses are quite modest; some of them have the doll holding a book, or a mixing bowl. My girls learned a lot about these wonderful women, and the ways that they influenced those around them. This would be a great accompaniment to a history lesson and would give a hands-on way to play and learn more about great women in history.
