Stretching & Priming Your Canvas DVD Review by Christine Hindle

Stretching & Priming Your Canvas is a 45-minute DVD that explains how to make and prep a canvas for oil or acrylic painting. Mr. Withers demonstrates the procedure, but also explains why each element is needed and gives the best choice for the process. In addition, he gives some of the history of painting. This DVD is very thorough and goes into great detail about what types of products to use. I found it to be both interesting and informative, and I believe it would be beneficial to any aspiring artist. Buying premade canvases for painting can get expensive, and often you are not sure of the quality you are getting. Any serious artist would want to perform this process themselves, in order to save money and ensure quality. My oldest granddaughter, whom I homeschool, is an artist. She is beginning to progress beyond sketching to painting, and I love to paint myself, so this DVD has been very helpful to us. We attend a Co-op once a week, and I am going to recommend this DVD to some of the art teachers there.
At just $14.95, this is a great value, and would be an asset to any homeschool family that includes art and painting in their curriculum
