Curious Critters Review by Courtney Larson

Curious Critters is perhaps the coolest picture book I’ve ever seen. It is 32 pages of sheer beauty. The author and photographer used high resolution photography to take pictures of common animals against a white background. Because the animals were photographed against a white background, you can easily see all of the tiny details of each animal. There is a variety of animals, ranging from the goldfish to the flying squirrel, from the bluejay to the red flat bark beetle.
Not only is the photography stunning, the vignette written about each animal is packed full of information, but they are not boring. Each animal has a voice, and speaks in first person about himself. Details are given about where the animals live, what they eat, and what makes them special.
This book would make a wonderful gift for an animal lover of any age, and it’s a perfect addition to a study of animals. Curious Critters is worth every penny of the $19.95 price tag, and I highly recommend you add it to your coffee table or book shelves.
