The Reunion, by Rachel McIntire, is a short story which is perfectly written to be used as a read-aloud for family devotions or as a homeschool supplement. This story chronicles the lives of two young girls living very different lives that have a common thread. One young lady grows up in a home filled with the love of Jesus while the other grows up in an affluent home with no knowledge of Him. Read along to see how their lives are intertwined without the girls even knowing it.
The Reunion is available for purchase at www.ElishaPress.com for $9.99. It is also available as a free download for your Kindle, Nook, or other e-reader on this page: http://elishapress.com/free-christian-novels/ The publisher notes that while this story can be appreciated by any age group independent readers should be ten or older.
I love how many tender topics are handled with such grace throughout the book. God’s presence is made known as one family turns to him in each and every situation—something we all ought to do but sometimes struggle with. My daughter (9) and I enjoyed this story. It was a fast read that we didn’t want to put down. I felt it was a bit predictable, but my 9 year old hung on every word.
