Lysis Goes to the Play Review by Anne Weiland

Lysis Goes to the Play is the story of an Athenian boy who steals out to enjoy the fashionable entertainment of the day; that is, a play by the popular Euripides. The story would be a fine read-aloud for any grammar age child and could be read independently by a reader from about 3rd grade level and up. Woven into a captivating tale are many of the major Golden Age people and places including Sophocles, Pericles, Herodotus, the Greek gods, the Acropolis, and the Agora. This book would make a colorful supplement for any study of ancient Greece.
