I received the opportunity to test several items from www.hisGEM.net with my newborn son. We received a little one-size infant hat, a body shirt, a pants and body shirt outfit, and two plush security blankets. The second plush blanket was for my two year old daughter – since she's quite capable to tell me what she really thinks!

His GEM was created by Julie Kaempfe. She was inspired after the birth of her third daughter to create a line of baby clothes to celebrate the gifts God had given her in her daughters, Grace, Emma, and Madeline – and so, GEM was started, named in their honor.

The first thing I noticed when I received my package from His GEM is the softness and thickness of the body shirts. They are incredibly soft, and are great quality. They are both mostly white, and, in typical newborn fashion, my son has soiled them multiple times each – but they've held up well to extra scrubbing and have come clean easily. Everything is machine wash and dry and all feature embroidery or applique with a Bible verse or inspirational message. All of the clothing I received is 100% cotton, and the security blankets have plush fabric on one side and oh-so-soft satin on the other. The shirts and pants all fit true to size. The hat is labeled infant, but my fast growing 3 month old son was not able to wear it very long before he'd outgrown it. It might be better suited for a tiny newborn.

My two year old has loved her little security blanket. It has the cutest little bird on it, and she loves to play with it and has been sleeping with it as well. It's gone through the wash without issue and looks just as beautiful as the day we got it. I think it'll remain a favorite for her. Her baby brother has chewed on his little frog security blanket – often. It's held up perfectly! I love that as they grow the embroidered verse will remind them of their King.

All of it is so cute! Given the choice of which items I'd like to review, I spent quite a bit of time looking at all the options. We were thrilled with the choices we received and have loved the quiet witness the His GEM apparel provides with cute, God-glorifying statements recognizing the incredible gift we've been bestowed with in the form of these children. We've been nothing but pleased and hope the line continues to grow, celebrating tiny treasures!
