The Last Ride is book number three in the Circle C Milestones series. This series follows the adventures of teenage, horse loving, Andrea Carter as grows up on a California ranch in the late 1880’s. This 175 page, softcover book, is the third in the series. The story finds Andi turning sixteen. Her cousin from the city has joined the ranch and Andy is struggling. Tragic events and secrets force Andi to learn valuable lessons in forgiveness.
Wholesome, quality books for our teenage daughters are hard to find these days. Susan K. Marlow has done a wonderful job with her tales from the Circle C ranch. “Beginnings” for ages 6-9, “Adventures” for ages 9-14, and this series “Milestones” – for ages12+. My daughter is wild about horses - so, Andi's life is her dream. I love that these books are teaching character values and history as well. These books are filled with early American history from the Gold Rush days.
The characters are easy to fall in love with, and to identify with. My teenage daughter has been following Andi as she grows, and can’t put the book down. My daughter has really enjoyed growing up alongside Andi, and living the horse-loving life through her eyes. Since we live in the middle of suburbia, this is a wonderful way for her to escape to a different time and place.
Susan K. Marlow's books are more than just an enjoyable read, throughout each story are valuable life lessons for your children to learn as well. The book has made her laugh, and cry. Best of all, a strong Christian worldview and the message of the importance of forgiveness is woven throughout this story. Finally, a worthy role model for our daughters!
Visit the website, and you will find free Study Guides, Meet the Characters with pictures and biographies, and even Andi’s blog to keep up to date with all the news.
We have enjoyed every book in this series and are eagerly anticipating Book 4, Courageous Love, coming November 2016!
