Little Passports Explorer Kit World Edition Review by Jennifer Do Nascimento
Brazil Explorer PackageAmy Norman & Stella Ma
Little Passports

Little Passports is a fun program for children age three to twelve. Each month your child receives a country-specific package that includes a letter from Sofia and Sam (the globe-trotting brother and sister duo who serve as pen pals to your child), activity sheets, stickers, photos, boarding passes, and a souvenir.
In your first World Edition kit, you’ll also receive a suitcase to store your items in, a map to locate the different countries, and a passport. The World Edition is specifically made for children ages six to 10. There is also an Early Explorers Edition for children ages three to five, and a USA Edition for children age seven to twelve.
For our review we received, The World Edition: Brazil Explorer Package. My husband is from Brazil so the kids and I were excited to get a peek into Daddy’s home country! Within our package we found a Brazil sticker to put in our passport, some simple Brazil activity pages, a letter from Sam and Sofia, a picture of a red uakari monkey, and a small amethyst.
The activity pages included a Portuguese word search, South American country word scramble, and a brigadeiro recipe. Brigadeiros are a popular dessert in Brazil. They’re made of chocolate dough that’s rolled in sprinkles or coconut. Because they are a family favorite, we have been making them for every birthday party (and any other occasion we can think of!) for years.
There is a small hint on the activity pages about next month’s country destination, which is helpful if you intend upon getting some books or movies from the library to help enrich the learning process.
The letter from Sofia and Sam was about their trip to Brazil, specifically the Amazon Forest, where they encounter a red uakari monkey. The monkey needed help keeping away from hunters, so Sam and Sofia helped him by hiding him in an amethyst mine overnight.
Overall, the package is cute and educational in an overview type manner. I do wish there were more to it. Perhaps some additional resource recommendations. It’s definitely something the kids would look forward to receiving each month.
Monthly prices starting at $13.95 (plus $3 shipping). There are also six month packages for a one-time payment of $83.70 (plus $18 shipping), and an annual subscription for a one-time payment of $143.40 (plus $30 shipping).
