This DVD is basically a daily devotional with sound and video. Each segment shows beautiful footage of God’s creation with an iconic hymn playing in the background. A narrator comes in at some point and shares some scripture to go along with the video and music. We have found these very soothing and a great way to start our school day. Our household is pretty hectic and it is a good thing to be able to just sit and relax and enjoy these devotionals before we get on with our day. It definitely puts us in a better frame of mind. The old hymns speak to my soul and the beautiful videos of nature scenes are breathtaking.
Here is the play list:
Opening – Beautiful Savior – Psalm 95
Whiter Than Snow – What a Friend We Have in Jesus – Job 37, Isaiah 55, Psalm 51
Living Water – Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing – John 7, John 4
A New Creation – Amazing Grace / It is Well With My Soul – Ephesians 4, II Corinthians 5, Psalm 139
An Everlasting Sign – Be Thou My Vision – Isaiah 40, Isaiah 55
The Heavens Declare – O For A Thousand Tongues to Sing / Ode to Joy – Psalm 19, Isaiah 40,
Psalm 147, Psalm 95, Job 26, Psalm 65
Seek First God’s Kingdom – Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus – Matthew 6
My Only Hope – Holy, Holy, Holy – Job 38, Psalm 39.
As the narrator says at some point, God’s Word, the Bible, tells us the details of God’s Creation but just enjoying the natural things of our world also gives us insight into His Creation.
I looked at the website to see if there were more like this. They have a lot of interesting resources that I would like to explore but I’m not certain if any of it is devotionals like this. I would definitely be interested in more like this one. I would recommend this DVD to homeschools, grandparents, or just anyone who would like a nice calming start to their day.
