Can you be charged for smelling something? This is the case in A Case of Sense book from Arbordale Publishing. We are taken on a journey, a science journey that turns this simple looking picture book into a fun study that everyone can enjoy!
A young boy, Ming, is playing outside when he smells some delicious food. The smell is coming from a greedy neighbor’s house. This greedy neighbor wants to collect payment from all the neighbors for smelling his food. Can this be?
Of course, the neighbors won’t pay this outrageous charge, but what happens in the courthouse is the best solution to this problem! Through this silly story, we learn about definite shape or volume.
The end of the book has some great activities for Creative Minds. These activities work on teaching more about the different senses. There is even a simple science experiment on diffusion.
Not only that, if you head over to the website, you have access to 23 pages of teaching activities, 3 different quizzes, and a few related websites to continue your learning. These activities and quizzes range across the different subjects, making it easy to turn this book into a unit study in your house!
If you are looking for a fun book that will keep you learning after you finish reading it, you should check out A Case of Sense. We loved it and we think you will too!
