We are big fans of audio dramas and since this is the time of year where we spend quite a bit of time in the car, these sure do make the ride more enjoyable! So we were happy to have the opportunity to listen to Job - A Modern Man, from the LifeHouse Theater On-The-Air.

LifeHouse Theater On-The-Air audio dramas brings some of those favorite stories of old to life. Each one is a “theater of the imagination” with beautiful music and fabulous sound effects. These are done in such a way they leave you spellbound as you listen to these classic tales again and again.  It’s an amazing way to get to know a story, as you are drawn in by their amazingly high quality productions!

The book of Job, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful books within the Bible. There are so many lessons to be learned, and reminders of the power and presence of God. In those difficult times, we can be inspired and reminded that He always has a purpose and plan if we simply trust in Him. And it tells us too, of the power of our testimony. This audio drama is recommended for ages teen and up but my oldest son, who is 11, really enjoyed this and my younger two who are 5 and 7 were drawn in by the story too!

From the very beginning we were mesmerized by this production. My oldest son was not very familiar with this story before we received this but has since become quite familiar with Job. In this version of the story Job is living in our modern world; a successful executive philanthropist. Well known worldwide and of course, loved by all. Until that time of tragedy comes. Follow Job as troubles come his way; as he loses family and friends turn on him. Where is God in all of this?  Why does He allow one as faithful as Job to suffer so?

This really drew every one of us in; it was as if we were experiencing things right along with Job. Such a well done performance; we listened again and again to this tale. We had so many amazing and thoughtful conversations too about what faith is. What it means to trust in God and how we can value and work at all of our own tasks each day, with the vigor and character of Job. What a wonderful opportunity this is!

My favorite part is the curriculum guide which makes this an even richer experience as it has quite a bit of discussion questions and other ways to go deeper in study.  There are interesting facts provided, as well as key verses and a number of links to visit to learn more. Not only is this a story that will leave you truly knowing Job and his story but it will also help to grow your love and faith in God.
