We recently were given the opportunity to try out LightHome Publications, African Safari (Artistic Nature Magazine). This is a fun copybook that introduces our children to 26 African animals with lots of fun interactive internet linked opportunities throughout the 100+ pages which make up this ebook. Since all of my children love animals, this one seemed like something we could all enjoy learning with.

My kids love elephants, so it was perfect that the very first page of this ebook had to do with elephants and riding them! My kids loved seeing a newborn elephant; watching the baby take a bath in the swamp. Did you know that elephants can play soccer?

My oldest son is a very visual learner; he is also a rather reluctant reader so the many videos that make up this ebook are a great help. And I do think I caught him reading here and there too! He also really loved using some of the coloring pages in here to help him study and draw for himself, the animals he was learning about.

My younger son loved the coloring pages; while my oldest daughter enjoyed coloring the animals. All of us enjoyed the variety of puzzles that were included; word scrambles, hidden pictures, mazes and word searches.

Because I have a range of ages in our home, readers and non-readers, a material like this is a wonderful addition to our home learning. And it is so nice to see all of my children, together, learning and having fun. This is a wonderful and creative way to learn about animals while also exploring and touring the African savanna.

There are lots more of these Artistic Nature Magazines too! I know we will definitely be enjoying more of them in our home learning.  I highly recommend checking these out; there is so much more than you could imagine, to enjoy!
