Sweet Child Born In Texas is a whimsical book all about Texas. The book is written in somewhat of a poetic fashion. The book is available in hardcover for $14.95.
Sweet Child Born in Texas is 24 pages in length and is targeted for ages 4-8.
This book celebrates Texas and all that makes it great. Your child will learn Texas state facts. Did you know that the state flower is the bluebonnet? In the springtime bluebonnets are everywhere. It is tradition to take pictures in the bluebonnets. Your child will learn fun historical facts such as which presidents are from the great state of Texas. Did you know that friendship is the official Texas motto? You may be surprised to know that in the great state of Texas you will find hilly country, desert, canyons, beaches, as well as woods. The illustrations are colorful and eye-catching.
Texans have a certain pride that is deeply engrained into who they are. Most will say that everything is bigger and better in Texas, and having lived in Texas for the past 25 years, I would have to agree. All six of my kiddos were born and are currently being raised in the great state of Texas. I sat with my 8-year-old to read aloud this book to her. Yes, she could have read it herself but who doesn’t like to be read to. As I began reading my 17-year-old daughter walked in and said, “Texas is the best!” Just yesterday we saw a herd of Texas longhorns, the state mammal, grazing in an open field in Plano, a suburb of Dallas.
This book would be a great gift to give the little Texan in your life. And no, you do not have to be a Texan to enjoy this book. Young children will learn so much about Texasas well as enjoy the illustrations. Ya’ll definitely need to check this book out!
