Picture My Numbers! A Picture Study & Writing Tool to Help Young Children Learn Proper Numeral Formation and Recognition is a 53-page spiral bound softcover book containing ten weeks of lessons that retails for $12.95. It is written for the young child who is beginning to learn numbers but lacking the coordination to write them well. It does not introduce any other math concepts beyond numbers, what they represent, and a large space for practice writing them. A teacher book is not included or needed. Instructions are simple and written on each page, along with colorful photographs and a basic description of what each day ought to look like in a five-day school week.

This book, while it stands alone well, is written to use alongside Book 1 in Angela O'Dell's Math Lessons for a Living Education, also from Queens Homeschool. I used it with my three-year-old daughter, who has not done any formal preschool work previously but does understand what numbers represent when counting. She did well with it and loved it, but definitely struggled with writing numbers beyond the zero and the one that she studied in the first two weeks. She worked hard and loved it, but this would certainly be appropriate for a four, five, or even six-year-old as they begin their homeschooling math lessons. I think it could even be used very well for a child struggling in a different school setting to supplement their work elsewhere.

We liked this a lot! I learned of Queens Homeschool only recently and have been impressed with everything I've seen from the company thus far. Picture My Numbers, like all of Queens Homeschool approaches education with the Charlotte Mason method. Picture My Numbers provides brief lessons that engaged my daughter for the duration without frustration or boredom. I used it as a standalone curriculum for my very young child and it worked great for that as it gave a bit of school to a child desperate to be working alongside her older siblings. We will continue with the lessons and finish the book even once my review is finished – she loves it!
