Scavenger hunts are such fun and bring people together over a list of places or things. The LOOK Book: The Freedom Trail, Boston - a Scavenger Hunt is a great way to take history and merge it with interactive fun. This small paperback book is about 5 inches by 6 inches. It is just right to tuck into a backpack on the go. Inside this 65-page book you will find pictures of many historical sites found in Boston, MA. These pictures are paired with tidbits of information - just a sentence or two - to help explain what it is or why it is important. These bite-sized pieces of information paired with a picture help to bring the city of Boston to life.

The idea is to take this little book and follow the Freedom Trail, looking for these places and things. In the back of the book is a set of stickers, each with the words “Found it!” These are to place on each of the book pages to track your progress.  What a great way to mark all the interesting things found on the Freedom Trail in Boston.

Not living in the immediate area, our family was still able to enjoy the scavenger hunt found in this book. We were able to take the pictures and information in the book and do an online search to find more about the people and places in The LOOK Book: The Freedom Trail, Boston - a Scavenger Hunt. This was a simple way to build interest in an area and The LOOK Book made it fun.

The LOOK Book is created by Barbara Tibbetts, who lives just outside of Boston. This makes it seem as though you are being shown the area by someone who knows it well. Visit The LOOK Book website to learn more. The LOOK Book brings a fun, new approach to searching for historical information.
