Books have the power to transform children’s imaginations into other times and places. And the Joyful Creation Series, by Kristie Wilde, is a wonderful set of three books that will delight the hearts of children of all ages. These books are a beautiful expression conveying God’s love, wisdom, and character through the words and illustrations. The cost of each book is $12.99, and Made For a Purpose is the winner of the Christian Indie Awards. Designed for ages 0-6, yet these picture books are noteworthy enough for all readers, or for those who enjoy being read to. With twenty full colored pages in each book, these will surely engage every reader.

This series is excellent for use in home education, church, school settings, or any place children’s books are read. They are age appropriate from birth through upper elementary. The books are simple enough for emerging readers to read as well. Scripture is referenced at the end of each book, along with additional information about the animals in the It’s a Jungle in Here.

These would be great unit studies for exploring God’s character further, delving into the scriptures with more details, or studying the animals in regards to where the animal lives, continent, diet, and habitat. Visual and audio learners will really enjoy the illustrations, as there is so much detail created.

Our family primarily read this series during bedtime story time. My children are early elementary, which provided ways to engage in great discussions about the pictures, as well as ask open-ended questions to what they thought God’s message was conveyed to them personally, and through the story. Reading these stories at night also provides an excellent life giving practice to each child’s heart, as they go to sleep they can think on things that are lovely. There is nothing in this series that I would change, as I felt that each book was complete in itself.

I would highly recommend purchasing this series for any child who loves to read, and these would make lovely gifts given. Literacy is the most priceless gift you can give to a child!
