As a mom of teen users of headphones, when these came up for review, I was very interested. The Mixcder E7 Premium Noise Canceling Headphones are a great solution for homeschool families that use computers or other electronic devices. As a Mom’s Choice Award Gold Award winner for quality, design, educational and entertainment value, originality, appeal, and cost, these headphones do exactly what they say they will do.

What’s in the box: Wireless headphones, micro USB charging cable, 3.5 mm audio cable, user manual, compact carrying case, and a warranty card.

At $59.99 this is a reasonable cost for Bluetooth technology that delivers good solid pleasant sound. The headphones have “large 40 mm drivers stream music in a full range of frequency” delivered with soft and comfortably padded foam ear cushions with extendable arms for various head sizes. It also has a padded headband for comfort. I really do enjoy the level of sound the headphones produce and have enjoyed many hours of music with them on.

I had no trouble pairing the headphones to my phone while in the middle of a phone call and the person on the other end had no trouble hearing me speak via the tiny microphone set into the headphones. You can pair it with a desktop computer or laptop if your device has a built-in wireless feature or if you have purchased a wireless dongle (sold separately and preferably version 2.1 or above). Because we do not have a built-in wireless feature or a dongle, I was not able to pair it with my computer. However, it worked like regular headphones with the cord and connected just fine to my computer when I was sitting at my desk working.

The Active Noise Canceling is a very nice feature, and it does a good job blocking out most sounds. It does not remove all sound so you will hear if people yell your name or if there is loud music in the background, but you have to really listen for sounds to hear them with this feature. It works with what they call a “noise canceling circuit” that primarily deals with car, airplane, buses, or train noise, but I did try it with loud music and I had to really concentrate in order to hear it. I was impressed with the feature and feel like it would be really beneficial in the homeschool world where one student might deal with a lot of ambient sibling noise while working on schoolwork on the computer.

I can see why the Mixcder E7 Premium Noise Canceling Headphones won the Mom’s Choice Award and our family is thrilled to be using them.
