Me, G, and the Locust Tree, by Clay Anderson, is a children's book that shares a father and son's joy for playing outside.

This story begins with the author sharing his front yard childhood memories. With a bit of imagination, his favorite Maple Tree turned into something new and magical each day. One day he may be a knight defending his tree castle and the next an astronaut on a maple spaceship. His favorite tree also carried his friends for hours on the days they used it as a jungle gym. As an adult and father, he fondly remembers each moment as his son experiences similar things on their Locust Tree. The story continues with memories of Little G enjoys playing on the custom tree swing hung by his father.

This hardcover book features the standard, added book cover with artwork on both. Ellie Nuryanti's illustrations filled each page and complemented each line of text. We found the words simple to read and understand for everyone in the family. This story was shared four times via our children's bedtime, our local book club, homeschool group, and during school poetry teatime. Each audience appreciated the father's perspective on growing up, outside play, and spending time with your children.

Me, G, and the Locust Tree, by Clay Anderson, tells the story of outside memories passed to future generations. The beautiful artwork, simple yet meaningful text, and overall book quality make this a pleasant reading experience. This book is currently available on the author's website and Amazon for $17.95. This tale is a great reminder that life goes on, but memories last a lifetime.
