Accordance Bible is a software program built for computers and mobile devices by OakTree Software. This software is compatible with Android and Apple devices. The product is extremely well packed with helpful study tools. Included in the version that I reviewed were 28 Bible versions (which included 7 different languages), commentaries, devotionals, Daily Readings, Workspaces, and more. The program can be purchased in 19 different packages ranging from the LITE collection, which is Free, the Basic Starter ($30-$60), the Greek and Hebrew Discoverer ($259-399) and upgrading to the All In All collection which is $41,999.

The focus of the software is a personalized, in-depth Bible Study. I think that anyone could benefit from using this program to study the Bible. Someone new to Bible study would benefit from the Daily Reading and Devotionals and someone who has studied the Bible for years and has Theology degrees would still find interesting and even challenging things. I can definitely see how church leaders, teachers, pastors, youth workers, missionaries, professors, families, homeschoolers, college students, and many others could use this amazing program to enrich their own personal study time as well as better prepare for teaching others.

My daughter, an upcoming Senior in High School, hopes to go to a Missions College. She used the program for her Homeschool Bible class and Church Discipleship Training to research some passages that are debated in Christian theology (e.g. Hebrews 6, Hebrews 9, Romans, and 1 John). She also used it for some personal Bible study time. She found the program to be super helpful in comparing different views, defining words, and discovering word origins. She loved the fact that the reference materials were not trying to push one viewpoint over another one. She felt that it gave the information and left room for the Holy Spirit to lead her thoughts and studies. The program allowed her the flexibility to personalize her studies by using workspaces to make her own notes. There were 34 tools including Dictionaries, Histories, and Visuals in this version for her to use for research. Various resources and parallel views were displayed in multiple panes and could be accessed while still viewing the Bible passage being studied. Verse, Chapter, and Book buttons helped with navigation and the Highlight option offered 131 symbols to use in tying scriptures together.

We liked the Accordance Bible Software very much. It is a comprehensive program for anyone wanting to read, study, or just become acquainted with the Bible. My daughter found it to be an extraordinary compilation of tools for focused studies. I think young children, with adult input if they can read and navigate on a computer, could use the program.The fact that the program can be purchased in various packages according to price or study needs impressed me.

The one drawback that we felt could be addressed was the fact that there were so many tools available that at times it felt a little overwhelming. (The version that we were reviewing took several hours to download!)  I feel a simplified start-up guide would have been beneficial for me as I consider myself technologically challenged. However, I do realize that over time, you would be able to become more familiar with the options and find it easier to navigate through the program with ease.

I recommend this product for anyone wanting a superior and well thought out Bible Software program. Accordance Bible has options for various ages, all financial levels, and multiple study levels and uses. I am delighted that we have had the opportunity to review this product and have been so impressed that we have already been able to share details about it with several of our friends.
