My daughter loves starting her day with God’s word. She has confessed to me that her days go much better when she makes time for her devotions. So, Awake My Soul Devotional Bundle from Thou Art Exalted Ministriesseemed like a perfect gift for her. 

The Awake My Soul Devotional Bundle is designed for teen girls ages ten through eighteen. It is a physical set of three physical products which I will detail below.

First in the bundle is the Awake My Soul Devotional for Girls which is a hard-bound book with two hundred sixty devotions from the New Testament. There are two hundred and sixty weekdays in the year and this devotional is made for each day of the work or school week if you will. The devotionals were written by fifty-four different authors and cover assorted topics that are seasonal but not strictly so. Each devotion starts with a scripture, moves to a discussion by the author and then is followed by a short prayer, a starting point for a journal entry and more scripture references related to the devotion. The pages are peppered with colorful watercolor flowers.

Next up is the Awake My Soul Blank Journal. This is a two-hundred-page softbound journal. It is mostly blank lined pages with occasional scripture references. There is a personalization page to add your name and date. It is colorfully designed to match the Awake My Soul Devotional.

Finally, the bundle also includes eight colorful stickers with scripture references and pretty designs. 

The whole package is pretty. And this is something I would buy for my teen daughter. I did give it to her and wish I had used some pomp and circumstance to give it to her instead of just handing it to her and saying, “use.” She does her morning devotions on her own and this is perfect for a time of prayer and reflection. 

Some examples of the devotions include “Brave” which discusses being a good friend and seeking God for strength. Another example is the devotion “Clothed in Light” which is based on Romans 13:14 and concerns not being concerned with your outward appearance but with walking covered in God’s truth. 

Even though I did not read every devotional I did read several and I do like that they begin and end with scripture. 

Although I like a blank journal as much as the next person it is the Awake My Soul Devotional that gets my attention. I appreciate the attention to detail, from the idea of a devotional for each weekday to the topics of the devotions which are applicable for today’s teen girls. 

One thing I would love is a table of contents for the devotional topics.  Simply because the topics bear returning to time and time again. 

I work with a lot of young people in my church and could see this bundle as being a wonderful gift for so many situations. Such as birthdays, graduations, baptisms, or even as part of a weekly study. This is a nicely put together package.
