As a parent, we face many challenges every day. From the moment we awake until the time we fall asleep we are busy. There is much to do for all these little ones that the Lord has blessed us with. It can be tiring mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. How can we find the time to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to Him, when we have children always needing something?

A Moment in Time is a book that is written for this very purpose. This is a 365-day devotional designed for busy moms and dads who need a “bite” as they work to raise their children (or grandchildren) in the fear and admonition of the Lord. The lessons are from the Old Testament and the New Testament covering a variety of topics includingwords,  tithes, hope, and hunger.

Every one of us needs daily encouragement. Each day's reading suppliesa simple way for us to do this amid life. There is a passage of scripture along with a short story. The devotions are written to share how we can train up our children in the way they should go. These are simple and short - easily read when you have a moment. Following is a teaching moment and a simple prayer.

As disciples of Jesus, we know that the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. We know that it is given for instruction, for correction, that we may be thoroughly furnished in all good works. These short devotions remind us of the importance of training our children in prayer, in boldness, in choosing to be delighted. All that we do each day shapes and molds our children into something. Let them be shaped in His image more and more.

Every one of us can take the time to read one devotion a day. It is simple when you use a book like this. Carl Willis knows what it is like to be in the trenches. As you read, the Word of God comes alive. These pages help you see its relevance and then live it out with your family. This book is written in such a way that it easily strengthens and refreshes us as we go about our work each day.
