The Amazing Animals of Alaska DVDs and Creation Cards are excellent resources for discovering God’s treasures in nature. Each DVD is approximately one hour in length, plus an additional thirty-five minutes of bonus content that gives beautiful, true insight into the lives of Alaska’s native animals. Both Volume One and Volume Two are narrated by Dr. Jobe Martin, along with four experts who share valuable information from different points of view. In addition to basic facts about animal life, these DVDs do an excellent job of pointing every single thing back to scripture and the Lord’s perfect creation. The Creation Cards are a perfect companion to the DVD. Each pack contains 50 cards with detailed information, a full-color image of multiple animals, and a handy QR code that will lead the reader to a complete message of salvation! Because much of our family is originally from Alaska, my children were excited to watch these documentaries and learn more about the world their grandparents grew up in. Each volume focuses on different animals and gives us great insight into their habitats, eating habits, survival skills, migration patterns, and all kinds of other fun facts. We even got to explore the Aurora Borealis in all its glory! We chose two rainy afternoons on different days and made popcorn, built a fort, and snuggled up together to watch. We always enjoy taking a break from the regular routine and doing something different and fun, so these afternoons were treasured. All four of my children, from age two to age twelve, enjoyed both volumes. I was amazed at how well these DVDs kept all of our attention. The imagery was wonderful and entertaining as well as educational, and the narrators were engaging and fun. Being just under one hour, it was the perfect length to keep us interested without our attention spans starting to waver. 


After we had watched both volumes of Amazing Animals of Alaska, my children enjoyed pulling Creation Cards and quizzing each other on the animal facts that they learned. I love that there are multiple cards for each animal represented, so we can keep one set of cards for ourselves, and share the rest with the world! The creation cards, complete with a convenient link to a salvation message, are such a beautiful way to share the good news with the world. They could be handed out on field trips, in birthday cards, as Valentines, or even passed out to trick-or-treaters in place of (or along with) candy! Not only can you share interesting information about God’s living treasures, but you can also share His message with the world! 


We enjoyed this combo set so much, that we would love to see more options made available in the future! It would be wonderful if Amazing Animals in Alaska could grow into Amazing Animals of Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, or Hawaii! I’d love to see more of these volumes made for different states or even different countries around the world. 

The Amazing Animals of Alaska Vols. 1 & 2 and Creation Cards Combo was a phenomenal resource for our home school. I would highly recommend this combo pack to homeschool families of any age interested in learning more about animals and the beauty of the Lord’s creation.
