Servers and States
With two of the newest courses on SchoolhouseTeachers.com, students can learn about servers and states. SQL Server Beginner Course, taught by April Schroader, introduces 6th-12th graders to relational databases and SQL (Structured Query Language), starting with the basics of what relational databases are and how they are used in the real world and moving onto SQL, creating databases and tables, inserting and manipulating data, and querying for data. By the end of the course, students will have a useful Homeschool Tracker Database and will have viewed about half of a training series from Microsoft® that is part of Microsoft’s Database Fundamentals Certification. Learning Across the USA with Kathy Hutto is a fun ten-week course that brings American geography to life with notebooking activities that explore each state. Landmarks, state birds, state flowers, capitals, famous people, major industries, fun facts, and more for each state are explored.
