Founded in 1867, King is a private Christian university serving students throughout the Southeast and nation. Our legacy of academic excellence is grounded in a liberal arts foundation that integrates faith and learning, all in a supportive and welcoming community that feels like home. More than 98% of our students receive some form of financial aid, with academic scholarships for first-time freshmen ranging from $11,000-17,000. We award more than $19 million in financial aid each year, making the cost of a King degree comparable to that of a public institution. Students pursue a number of degree programs ranging from the associate to the doctoral level and can choose from a range of study formats, including in-classroom, online, or asynchronous, depending on availability. Currently, our most popular degrees are centered in the fields of nursing, business, education, and social work. University-centered athletic opportunities include membership on one of 28 teams competing in the NCAA Division II and Conference Carolinas, or participation in on-campus leagues and groups sponsored by King’s Student Life group. Our graduates generally carry less debt and achieve higher salaries than those at comparable regional institutions, providing the additional freedom to pursue further education or advance a career without the burden of excessive educational loans. We see it as our calling to help you discover yours, and we stand ready to answer questions about admissions, financial aid, degree programs, career services and more.
